LMAO – I’d rather be in the motel with you but since I’m planning on bringing the kids that little "money meter" in my head is saying take the tent and save the cost of two rooms. I made my hotel reservations today. Now all I have to do is come up with the money. I am still hoping for a miracle so that I can go. It’s not looking too good at this point, though. we’ll be camping too…been poking around for information on the park and found this: Nations Bridge Park This 81 acre area is located six miles north of Stuart or seven miles south of Panora, on county Highway P-28. It is a very popular place for all ages. Nations Bridge Park has facilities for camping, picnicking, self-guided nature trail, hiking trails, electricity, water, toilets, and excellent catfishing in the South Raccoon River. Also, two shelter houses, shower, and trailer dump station. Reservations for group camping are accepted. Facilities for scouts, clubs, organizations, and playground equipment are available. Park ranger’s residence on site. Office phone is (515) 523-1789. Maybe if we can get a ballpark figure on how many are planning to camp we could go for the "group" reservation. That would be kinda neat, even if we are spending much of our time elsewhere. We’ll be tent camping, one well-used 8×10 tent. (an old canvas one Mike’s had for about 30 years. takes up lots of room in the car, but I can’t convince him to move on to a lighter modern one!) I think Melinda’s planning on bringing an RV of some sort.
