Beach Camping near San Diego

Hi looking for suggestions on tent camping near the beach in San Diego CA Any ideas, full campground or primitive OK

Camping in San Diego was a horrible experience for me.  The lights, noise, and activity at all hours of the night were horrendous.  Here’s an idea: camp outside the city–as far away as you are willing to drive to your destination in the morning.
