Bushwalking in Blue Mountains

Question:

Hi, I’ll be in the Blue Mountains beginning of November, for a week. Looking to spend a couple of days walking to the Blue Gum Forest, camping overnight. Would appreciate any info. Paul

Presume you know that you can’t actually camp in the Blue Gum Forest – but at Acacia Flat, which isn’t far from the BGF.  The easiest route is from Pierces Pass on the Bells Line of Rd – it can be done as a longish day trip, but you need a car to get there.  If you go in from the Grand Canyon you can get to Blackheath by train & come out at Mt Victoria. Thanks Vicki, yes I knew about Acacia Flat. Going in from the Grand Canyon sounds a good idea. Do the creek crossings on the track involve getting wet or are they fairly simple to negotiate?
