The rationale for a UK-specific group is that there are topics uniquely of interest to people in the UK. I think it would add a dimension to usenet rather than detract. Regards, Paul. — Paul McGuinness
Response:
>But you said TO ADVERTISE in the NewsGroup!!! That’s spam >justification talk!! You’re trying to make money out of the >NewsGroup?! Why don’t you join the usual marketing and ‘FOR SALE’ >newsgroups then?!
To clarify – I personally have absolutely NO interest in advertising and much prefer there to be NO advertising in newsgroups. I was asking politely for guidance in writing the charter so I could get it right. >Also do you have to form your own little ‘club’ for nice UK boys, >can’t you just be normal and join the internet universal >population, is anyone stopping you talking UK topics here?!!
Enjoy the best of both? >Sounds fishy to me!!
My intentions are honest. >You should NOT be ADVERTISING spam services here!
I have NO intention of doing so. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >| > >| >So isn’t just one Group enough for all to see?! >| > >| > >| >| >| >| > Following on from my previous post I would like to get >| >| >opinions >| >| > on the creation of a newsgroup dedicated to camping uk. | | To clarify – I personally have absolutely NO interest in advertising and | much prefer there to be NO advertising in newsgroups. I was asking | politely for guidance in writing the charter so I could get it right. | If did NOT want undercover SALES or spam targeted Newsgroup then you would NOT have even mentioned it. Your reasoning does NOT make sense at all! Just to follow your reasoning from above – I have NO interest in drinking snake poison. But based on your approach, I should go around asking people politely for guidance if I should drink snake poison?! No one would do that! What ARE you saying?! | >Also do you have to form your own little ‘club’ for nice UK boys, | >can’t you just be normal and join the internet universal | >population, is anyone stopping you talking UK topics here?!! | > | | Enjoy the best of both? You want to enjoy the best of both what?! Own little ‘club’ and money spamming schemes too?! This is a smallish group anyway! Why even think about separating from this Group when you have benefited from it so far?! Or are you looking for a SALES target group?! Why keep giving us all this mysterious undercover talk?

No! Not everyone subscribes to every NG. If Jayne hadn’t x posted, I would not have seen it! Dearest Archie, You’ll note I did not try to promote our website, I simply mentioned it as it was on topic. I might also draw your attention to the fact that, once launched, the website will not be commerical. It provides information and tips. Not everyone is trying to make a fast buck from the Internet. Some of us are trying to provide help to others. – Daniel — ICQ: 120580758

Paul, I missed your original message, but I would fully support your idea. I’m actually part of a team who are about to launch a website providing information aimed at UK campers. There is definately an audience out there. There’s nothing wrong with this group, or the wonderful people who post here, but a UK specific group would probably be useful to a lot of people. I’m all for the idea. If I can help, please let me know. – Daniel posted: – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->Paul >I have crossposted your posting to rec.outdoors.camping, as there may be >interested parties there. >Jayne > Following on from my previous post I would like to get people’s opinions > on the creation of a newsgroup dedicated to camping uk.
